The Human Resources Unit is headed by a Human Resource Manager and handles the Ministry’s administrative and human resources functions including records management, processing of salary, maintaining employee records / appraisal and general office management in line with the Solomon Islands Government’s General Orders.
An effective and efficient Human Resources Unit ensures that Government policies are implemented by the Ministry and that the General Orders of the Public Service are adhered to. These support services are collectively referred to as Corporate Services.
As the Ministry’s recruitment arm, the Unit is also responsible for advertising opportunities for job vacancies within the Ministry to members of the public and issues the relevant standard forms for such vacancies. The Unit also contributes to good public sector management by building the capacity of the Ministry’s staff through effective recruitment, training and skills development.
