Communication services form a core mandate of the Ministry of Communication and Aviation (MCA).

From the delivery of postal and broadcasting services to all forms of telecommunication services, the global revolution in information communication technologies (ICT) is seeing a convergence of effective service delivery options becoming increasingly available to Solomon Islanders.

These rapid changes, while exciting, come with inherent risks that the Ministry, through the functions of the Communication Division hopes to mitigate through responsible and progressive policies and regulations.

Through these functions, the Ministry hopes to provide an oversight role in how BIG data is used in the Solomon Islands and encourage the delivery of services to all Solomon Islanders through ICT options that protect the country’s most vulnerable while encouraging economic growth.
